For quick connection and disconnection Bayonet type of thermowell are used.

There are special thermowells for faster response.  Here the bore of the thermowell is tapered. The insert portion of the sensor is also tapered so that metal to metal contact ensures faster heat transfer and faster response. TEMP TECH designed  special Tapers and Reamers for this purpose.
